Ravens release Crabtree after 1 season
The Baltimore Ravens released veteran receiver Michael Crabtree on Monday.
Crabtree signed a three-year, $21-million contract last offseason. The team saves $4.6 million in cap space by cutting the 31-year-old, according to Spotrac.
Crabtree ranked second on the team in receptions (54), third in receiving yards (607), and tied for second in touchdown catches (three) in his lone season in Baltimore. Those numbers were on par with his production with the Oakland Raiders the previous season - except for the scores, which declined from eight in 2017.
His usage dropped precipitously after rookie Lamar Jackson took over as the Ravens' starting quarterback in Week 11. Crabtree never topped three receptions or 38 yards in a game from that point onward.
However, Crabtree did catch two passes that went for touchdowns in Baltimore's wild-card playoff loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.
The 10-year vet will be among the top available receivers when free agency begins March 13.
