Vanessa Bryant will be receiving some of the items placed outside Staples Center to honor her late husband, Kobe Bryant, and daughter Gianna.

Staples Center president Lee Zeidman told Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times that Vanessa made the request.

"Vanessa had reached out to us and said, 'Our family would like the items out there,'" Zeidman said. "So we're going to catalog every one of them. By that I mean, T-shirts, letters, basketballs, stuffed animals, toys. We're going to put those in specially made containers and we're going to ship them to the family."

Zeidman said the perishable items, such as flowers, will be composted and spread around the area.

Cleanup crews began dismantling the memorial early Monday morning. More than 1,300 basketballs, 25,000 candles, 500 stuffed animals, and 350 pairs of shoes, among other items, were left by fans.
