"The Mighty Ducks" reboot will include the return of coach Gordon Bombay.

Actor Emilio Estevez announced Thursday that he's reprising his role of Bombay for the new sequel series, which is slated to premiere on Disney+ later this year.

"Once a Duck, always a Duck!" Estevez said in a statement, according to Will Thorne of Variety. "After 25 years, I am delighted to lace up my skates, put on Coach Bombay's jacket and return to play the iconic character for this new chapter in 'The Mighty Ducks' franchise."

Estevez portrayed Bombay in the original "Mighty Ducks" movie in 1992 and then in the sequels, "D2: The Mighty Ducks" and "D3: The Mighty Ducks."

In the new series, set in present-day Minnesota, the Mighty Ducks "have evolved from scrappy underdogs to an ultra-competitive, powerhouse youth hockey team," according to Disney. After 12-year-old Evan (played by Brady Noon) is cut from the team, he and his mother, Alex (Lauren Graham), decide to build their own squad.
