The Big Fundamental cannot cure what currently ails the San Antonio Spurs, who trail 2-0 in the Western Conference finals to the undefeated Golden State Warriors.

Tim Duncan has been making sporadic appearances during Spurs practices, but in terms of coming out of retirement to toss on a jersey and hit the hardwood in the series, head coach Gregg Popovich knows that's a bad idea.

"Tim (Duncan) can't help us a lick," Popovich told reporters Saturday ahead of Game 3, according to the San Antonio Express-News' Melissa Rohlin. "He can't play dead anymore. He just comes for the free lunch."

The Spurs are down their best player once again for Game 3 Saturday night, as Kawhi Leonard will remain on the sidelines nursing a sprained left ankle.

Duncan averaged 8.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.3 blocks in his 19th and final season with San Antonio in 2015-16 before retiring.
