Watch: Bautista ends homer drought with extra-innings blast

Kim Klement / USA TODAY Sports

Toronto Blue Jays fans waited 16 games for Jose Bautista's first home run of the season, and the slugger picked a dramatic moment to finally snap his skid.

In the 13th inning of Friday night's contest against the Los Angeles Angels - while folks on the East Coast were likely packing it in for the night - Bautista hit a three-run shot to left-center field off former teammate Jesse Chavez to take an 8-5 lead.

The Blue Jays would end up needing every single one of those RBIs, though, as the Angels would storm back with two runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning. Joe Biagini ended up retiring Albert Pujols and C.J. Cron with the bases loaded and up by just one run to wrap up only the fourth win of the season for the Jays.
