McGrady highlights 2017 Hall of Fame inductees
T-Mac is headed for Springfield. Tracy McGrady joined late Chicago Bulls general manager Jerry Krause and former ABA star George McGinnis in the class of this year's inductees for the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
McGrady - drafted straight out of high school by the Toronto Raptors in 1997 - played 15 seasons, his heyday coming with the Orlando Magic and Houston Rockets. The dynamic seven-time NBA All-Star won two scoring titles and sits 67th all-time in points despite injuries severely impacting the last several years of his career.
Fair or not, the knock on McGrady was that he never got beyond the first round of the playoffs until his final NBA season. In 2012-13, he was signed late in the year by the San Antonio Spurs and played six postseason games as they went on to lose the NBA Finals.
Krause was also named to the Hall, something first reported Friday. McGinnis played in three All-Star Games in both the ABA and NBA in a career with the Indiana Pacers, Philadelphia 76ers, and Denver Nuggets.

The announcement wasn't without snubs, however. Chris Webber, Rudy Tomjanovich, and Sidney Moncrief were passed over by voters. Tomjanovich coached the Rockets from 1992-2003, overseeing the team to back-to-back NBA championships in 1994 and 1995. In those 12 seasons he logged a 503-397 record.
Other inductees include Kansas men's coach Bill Self, former UConn and WNBA star Rebecca Lobo, and Notre Dame women's coach Muffet McGraw.
