Harvard beats Air Force, advances to Frozen Four

Harvard has booked a trip to the Frozen Four.

The Crimson emerged with a 3-2 win in the NCAA men's hockey quarterfinals Saturday night, topping the Air Force Academy Falcons at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island.

The Crimson overwhelmed the Falcons early on, outshooting the Air Force during the first frame and netting the game's opening goal 10 minutes in.

Viktor Dombrovskiy scored the opener, capitalizing on a slick move from quick-footed linemate Alexander Kerfoot, who burst into the Falcons' zone and put on the brakes to create some space for his cross-ice dish.

The Crimson continued to dominate in the second period, as Boston Bruins prospect Ryan Donato came up with an even more impressive tally, weaving through the Falcons' defense to pot the second goal of the game.

Then, the floodgates opened.

The clubs combined for three goals in a span of two minutes during the second frame, as Tyler Moy netted Harvard's third goal, before the Air Force answered with two quick tallies in just 15 seconds, from Brady Tomlak and Jordan Himley.

Heading into the third period with an undefeated record when leading after two this season (22-0-0), the Crimson held on to seal the deal.

Harvard will face Minnesota-Duluth in the Frozen Four on April 6.
