Jimmer Fredette's Twitter hacked, denies he's quitting basketball

Dodged a bullet there, Jimmer fans. That was a close one.

The social media account of former NBA guard Jimmer Fredette - who currently competes for the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association - posted a tweet early Sunday morning that he was quitting the sport for good.

It turns out the message was nothing more than a massive troll job from an online hacker, with Fredette posting later in the day that he was not responsible for the tweet, and that he had plenty of basketball left in him.

The 27-year-old was recently named Asian Player of the Month for December, averaging 39.6 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game on 51 percent shooting from the field and 37 percent from 3-point range.
