D.C. fans will be hard-pressed to remember a night in local professional sports as thrilling and successful as Tuesday.
The Washington Wizards silenced a rowdy Toronto crowd with a 117-106 Game 2 rout of the Raptors to take a 2-0 series lead, Nicklas Backstrom scored an overtime winner to help the Capitals even their first-round series with the New York Islanders and, over at Nationals Park, Yunel Escobar hit a walk-off home run to beat the St. Louis Cardinals.
