Luis Suarez insists that he's bitten into a fellow human being for the last time.

With the Uruguayan striker set to make his competitive debut for Barcelona in the upcoming installment of El Clasico, Friday saw the Guardian publish an exclusive in which Suarez claimed that he's been seeing a therapist to cure his cannibalistic impulses.

"I think all the bad things I have been through are in the past," said Suarez, who also acknowledged the uproar caused by biting Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup. "I believe I am on the right path now, dealing with the people who can help me, the right kind of people."

Reflecting on his latest chomp, which was the third of his career following bites into Branislav Ivanovic in 2013 and Otman Bakkal in 2010, the Nacional product spoke of how his view on the incident has changed since it first occurred.

"At the time it was hard to accept then later one is aware that the best they can do is recognize that when they make a mistake they need to apologize and that's how it was," Suarez said.

When asked if his biting was related to autism, Suarez responded: "No, it doesn't make me think that. Everyone has different ways of defending themselves. In this case my weakness was that one but there are other players who react differently by kicking, breaking a nose or punching. Some of these things are worse than others and I understand that biting is very poorly viewed."

Regardless of whether or not any repeat occurrences at El Clasico on Saturday, there's no denying that it will be a delight to see Suarez's football skills on the pitch once again.
