Isaiah Austin says he's got an NBA job lined up once he graduates from college

Only days before this year's draft, a medical screening revealed that 20-year-old Baylor prospect Isaiah Austin suffers from Marfan syndrome, a genetic disorder that causes problems in the body's connective tissues.

The saddening diagnosis marked the end of Austin's dream of playing in the NBA, but while speaking with TMZ Sports on Tuesday, the paragon of positivity announced that he's got a job lined up with the league as soon as he graduates from college.

"I'm about to go back to school this August to finish my degree and I'm going to take a coaching job when I'm done," Austin said. "Adam Silver really wants me to be a part of the organization and I'm thankful for the opportunity he's given me."

While he wraps up the process of getting his college degree, however, Austin will still be involved in NBA initiatives.

"Right now he's going to have me do a little bit of stuff for 'NBA Cares,' just off and on right now until I get a full job with him after I finish my degree."

At this year's draft, where Austin was expected to go in the first round, Austin was selected by the league between the 15th and 16th selection as an honorary pick and stepped to the podium to shake hands with commissioner Silver.
