Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen haven't spoken in 2 years

Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen may have an NBA championship ring together, but there's no love lost between the former teammates now that they are on opposing sides.

The 2013-14 season started out with a rather public feud between the sides, with Garnett flanked by Paul Pierce and Allen backed by new teammate LeBron James, as Garnett and Pierce had previously criticized Allen for leaving the Boston Celtics after the 2011-12 season, only to turn around and do the same themselves (albeit via trade, though that didn't matter to James in early-season comments).

During Tuesday's Game 1 between Miami and Brooklyn, Allen and Garnett got reacquainted when Garnett pasted Allen with one of the most solid screens you'll ever see.

That's the first contact between the two in a great deal of time, according to the Sun-Sentinel:

Ray Allen won a title with Garnett and Pierce in Boston in 2008. But when he went down the Celtics bench before his first game with the Heat against them last season, Garnett famously refused to shake hands or even look at him.

"No," Allen says when asked if he's talked with Garnett over the last two years.

Has he tried?

"No, no," he says.

Two years without speaking after five seasons together seems drastic, but apparently time doesn't heal wounds when said time introduces new rivalry to the equation.

Allen and Garnett will continue to battle on Thursday for Game 2 of their second round series, with the winning side surley owning authoritative bragging rights thereafter.
