Report: Bills sign quarterback Kyle Orton

The Buffalo Bills have brought in a veteran quarterback to serve as backup to starter EJ Manuel, according to James Walker of ESPN.

The deal reportedly includes a player option for a second year.

Orton was released by the Dallas Cowboys back in July, and was said to be considering retirement, but evidently he still has something left in the tank.

Orton will take Jeff Tuel's spot as the top backup on the team's depth chart. It's possible that if Manuel were to struggle, as he has in the preseason, Orton could potentially make a push for the starting gig at some point during the season.

A nine-year veteran, Orton has also made stops in Chicago, Denver and Kansas City, making 72 starts along the way.
