Raptors vow to have shot clocks repaired before Game 2

Tom Szczerbowski / USA TODAY Sports

Not only will three days between games help the aging Brooklyn Nets replenish before Game 2, but it will also provide ample opportunity for the Toronto Raptors to rectify an embarrassing gaffe.

Toronto's shot clocks crashed while staging its first playoff game in six years, forcing the PA announcer to count down and yell "HORN" as the pseudo shot clock expired.

Team officials have promised that the issue will be repaired before the start of Game 2, where the Raptors will be desperate to avoid an equally-embarrassing 0-2 hole, and have their season inch closer to its own expiration.

As the subject of Toronto's ire, however, the arena malfunction played quite conveniently into Paul Pierce's hand.
