One-time Bellator MMA fighter Ivan Cole was found dead on Saturday, according to the Dallas Police Department.

Cole was 25 years old.

The police statement classifies the death as "unexplained," with officers arriving at the scene after responding to reports of a shooting.

A CBS affiliate in Dallas-Fort Worth reported that Cole's death may have been the result of playing Russian Roulette, a rumor that was addressed by comments from Cole's widow and mother.

Kymberli Cole started a GoFundMe page to cover her husband's funeral expenses, on which she initially wrote "I lost my husband to gunplay. He made a bad decision that cost him his life."

She later updated the page, instead saying "I lost my husband a day after our 2-year anniversary. They report he was playing Russian Roulette and I still haven't gotten back an autopsy."

Cole's mother, also named Kimberly, is aware of the rumors though she is searching for concrete answers.

"Some say it was about money, someone said something about Russian Roulette, but I don't have any facts now," Kimberly told NY Daily News.

In a three-year MMA career, Cole compiled a 2-3 record. His last fight came with the Bellator promotion in March of last year, a loss to George Pacurariu.
