Cam Newton's dabbing days are done.

The reigning NFL MVP plans to retire his iconic touchdown celebration, he said Thursday in an interview on WFNZ, according to Bill Voth of BlackAndBlueReview.com.

"I have to put that aside," Newton told radio hosts Chris McClain and Jim Celania.

It sounds like Newton plans to unveil a new celebration move this fall.

"I have time. I have until September to find out," Newton said.

Dabbing became a cultural phenomenon largely because of Newton, who had plenty of chances to drop his nose to his elbow during his MVP season. It's a safe bet that whatever he unveils as his new celebration will take off, too.
