Marcus Stroman signs sponsorship deal with sports nutrition company BioSteel
Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Marcus Stroman has signed a sponsorship agreement with BioSteel Sports Nutrition Inc., the parties announced Tuesday.
Stroman joins a roster that includes 2014-15 NBA Rookie of the Year Andrew Wiggins, NHL All-Star Tyler Seguin, and the No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 NHL Draft, Connor McDavid.
"I've seen BioSteel used by my teammates since I joined the Jays in 2014, so when I was approached with this partnership opportunity, it was very intriguing to me and I began to trial the products," Stroman said in a statement.
"With the length of the MLB season, staying in peak physical condition is paramount to any pitcher's success. BioSteel will be a key part of my routine and I have no doubt that we can achieve great things together in 2016."

A torn ACL derailed Stroman's 2015 season before he made a triumphant late-season return, posting a 1.67 ERA and 0.96 WHIP in winning all four of his regular-season starts before playing a key role in the American League East champion Blue Jays' playoff run.
"Seeing the excitement and pride that Marcus brought to baseball fans across the country this past season, we knew he'd be an ideal addition to our BioSteel roster," BioSteel president John Celenza said in a statement. "His boundless energy, commitment to excellence and dogged determination align perfectly with our corporate philosophy. We couldn't be more excited to be working with him and look forward to introducing him to our loyal consumers in a variety of activations."
