VIDEO: Crosby, MacKinnon surprise boy fighting leukemia, break out water guns
The ongoing summer adventures of Sidney Crosby and Nathan MacKinnon featured a touching scene Wednesday.
Residents of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia recently rallied together to help fix up the backyard of a family whose 7-year-old boy - Bryan Carroll - is battling leukemia.
Unbeknownst to the family, volunteers spent about five hours laying sod, painting, cutting branches, setting up outdoor furniture, and planting flowers.
Once the family returned home, offered heartfelt thanks, and saw the workers off, Crosby and MacKinnon showed up and engaged in a good-natured water gun battle with Carroll.
Crosby and MacKinnon also chatted with the family and took a tour of the beefed up yard.
"To come home to this - it’s fantastic," Bryan's father, Sean, told Rebecca Lau from Global News.
This latest escapade comes on the heels of a stint at a Tim Hortons drive-thru window in the pair's home town of Cole Harbor.
