VIDEO: Tayshaun Prince dunks in return to The Palace

Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports

King James wasn't the only royalty present at The Palace of Auburn Hills on Tuesday.

Tayshaun Prince made his return to Detroit as a member of the Pistons, suiting up for the Motor City for the first time since Jan. 29, 2013.

Prince was re-acquired by the Pistons from the Boston Celtics at the trade deadline Thursday and wasted little time making himself feel back at home. In the first quarter, Prince drove the lane and threw down an impressive two-handed jam with Timofey Mozgov right on his back.

Prince played 769 games over 10-plus seasons with the Pistons to begin his career, winning a championship with the franchise in 2004. He had returned to Detroit as an opponent just twice in the two years since being dealt, both times as a member of the Memphis Grizzlies.

Prince would finish with seven points, four rebounds, two steals and a block in 31 minutes. It looks as if he's rediscovered his comfort zone in Auburn Hills pretty quickly.
