Report: Marcus Mariota will not attend NFL Draft

Brian Spurlock / USA TODAY Sports

The presumed first two picks in this year's NFL Draft likely won't be in attendance to hear their names called.

In addition to the recent reports of Jameis Winston not attending, Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting Marcus Mariota will do the same.

Mariota reportedly wants to be at home in Hawaii with his family.

Most mock drafts have Winston going to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at No. 1 and Mariota to the Tennessee Titans at No. 2. There's no requirement for players to be there, but not seeing Roger Goodell present a hat and jersey to the top two picks would be unusual.

Some players have had an uncomfortable experience waiting in the green room as they slid down the board. That likely won't happen in Mariota's case, but on the off chance that's how things play out, he will at least be in the comfort of his own home to calm his nerves.
