Study finds Packers have best fan base in NFL

The Dallas Cowboys may be considered "America's Team," and the Seattle Seahawks may have the loudest fan base, but according to a study by Forbes magazine, Green Bay Packers fans are the best in the NFL.

The findings were based on five different criteria: hometown crowd reach, television ratings, stadium attendance, merchandise sales, and social media reach.

Packers fans scored highest in every category but TV rankings (second) and merchandise (seventh).

"Of course some of this can be attributed to the fact that the team sits in the smallest market with a metro area population of 306,241 with zero competing sports interests," Forbes writes. "But then again the team has 4.4 million Facebook fans and over 701,000 Twitter followers. Clearly its fandom extends beyond Green Bay; members on Packer Backer live across the country."
